Pedestrian Road Safety Tips

1. Use the Traffic Light Crossings/Pedestrian Crossings, i.e. Cross at Designated Areas.
(What do u think the govt spend so much fixing those "candy canes" for? Other than controlling the vehicles..)
2. Be Patient, Cross Only When U're Allowed To.
(U're not a vehicle, r u? The green light is for vehicles, the "GREEN MAN" is for humans!)
3. If There's an Overhead Bridge Within ur Sight, Use It.
(The overhead bridge dats bloody 100m away is 100% safe. Unless u suay suay kana strike by lightning or the bridge collapse.)
4. Do Not Stand at the Road Edge.
(Aint u afraid of the cars dat get so dangerously close? Cars can oso go out of control when turning. Or perhaps ur handbag strap could get hooked on the side mirror n there u go. Bye to u!)
5. Observe the Traffic Carefully if There's No Other Alternatives Available.
(Note the traffic of the next lane, not just the nearest lane. The nearest lane could be jammed up bcos vehicles are turning, but not the next lane.)
--------------------

Singaporeans r horrendous when they're crossing the road. (Ya i noe, Thailand is worst, but their road system isnt facilitating the traffic too.) They have the consensus which dictates, As Long As I Can Run To The Kerb Before The Vehicle Comes, I Can Cross The Road. I feel like an idiot waiting for the lights to change while people proceeds to cross the road when the light is GREEN and its outside the BUS TERMINAL. (Who was it who said dat they'll fine people for jaywalking in bus terminals??)

Maybe I'm too safety-conscious. I worked for 2 MNCs dat places great importance on safety. My mindset had already been configured that way.

But, being the Libran I m, I sometimes dun preach wat I pray.

Every morning, I had to cross the freaking road that leads to PIE to get to the bus stop. Dat road, is exceptionally crowded during peak hrs. Red Light, Left Turn Vehicles, Green Light, Straight Going Vehicles. Sometimes they nvr seem to be an end, n u have to wait maybe 10 min for the next bus.

Dats abt it for now, its lunchtime and I'm dozing off, again.
